Wood Dust

Sawing, sanding or machining wood products can produce wood dust.
Airborne wood dust can cause respiratory, eye and skin irritation. The
International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has classified wood dust as a nasal carcinogen in humans. Always follow the manufacturer’s recommended safety instructions and practices when using power tools.

Precautionary measures if power tools are used:
The power tools must be equipped with a dust collector. If high dust levels are encountered, use the appropriate NIOSH-designated dust mask. Avoid dust contact with eyes and skin.

First aid measures in case of irritation:
Flush eyes and skin with water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.

Where to Install

All rooms of your home*
All grade levels

Over smooth, well bonded vinyl floors; over concrete, ceramic tile, terrazzo, and marble; over board type underlayments; and over fully adhered carpet if the pile is less than 1/4˝ high and there is no pad.
* Bathroom Installations: 100% silicone caulk must be used around the entire perimeter and 3/32˝ bead of glue on the top of tongue.

Subfloor Preparation:
Subfloor must be clean, dry and level.
Remove any existing wall base or trim.
Door trims and doorjambs must be undercut
to allow the floor to move freely.

1. Install Underlayment:
Cover subfloor with Two-In-One™, logo side up. Do not overlap sheets. If subfloor is concrete or any existing floor installed over concrete, tape the seams with clear plastic tape. For all other subfloors, do not tape seams.

2. Install First Row:
Choose a wall and begin installing at the left corner. Start with an A board and place it with its long side marking facing the left wall at an angle of 45°. Make sure that the distance between the left wall and the board is less than the length of one board. Continue with a B board. Press the long side of the B board at an angle against the short side of the previous installed A board. Fold down the B board flat to the floor to lock the boards tightly together. Check that the grooves on the two boards form a continuous line. Next board is an A board. Again, press the long side of the board at an angle against the short side of the previous B board and fold down. Continue like this with as many boards as may fit along the starting wall. Center the first row along the starting wall. Make sure that the distance to the walls on both sides is less than the length of one board. If not, add a board at the right side. Measure and cut the end boards to size Finish the first row with the cut end boards. Make sure that you leave an expansion gap of 1/4˝ between each wall.

3. Install Starter Rows:
Start the next row with an A board. Place the new board against the previous row and fold down. Continue from the left to the right and install all the A boards in the second row. Finish with a piece of board cut to size. Now work in the opposite direction, from the right to the left and install all the B boards in the second row. Finish with a piece of board cut to size. Install additional rows to complete four full rows. The first four rows have to be cut parallel to the starting wall. Measure and mark where to cut the boards at a fixed/parallel distance to the wall. Number the boards. Disassemble the boards and cut them to size along the previous marked line. Alternative way of cutting the first rows. Leave the left end boards uninstalled. Tape along the marked line and place the flooring on top of a few cartons. Cut along the marked line. Then put the adjusted rows in place. Complete the first rows by installing the remaining end boards. Start with the end board in the last row and finish at the first row. Connect the cut starting boards to form triangles. Start installing the triangles from the left corner. It is recommended to use a 3/32˝ bead of glue on the tongue of the smallest parts of the triangles.

4. Install Remaining Rows:
Connect the triangles by installing a few additional rows. Start each row from the left to the right piece of board and then install all the B boards in the row. Finish with the left end board, cut to size. Use spacers between the flooring and the wall to ensure an expansion gap of 1/4˝. Start each subsequent row by installing the A boards from the left to the right and complete the row by installing the B boards from the right to the left. Measure and cut the boards in the last row to size. It is recommended to use glue to install the smallest pieces. of glue on the tongue.

5. Install Mouldings & Transition Strips:
Remove spacers and install finish mouldings. Attach mouldings and transition strips with nails, screws or construction adhesive. Predrill mouldings and transition strips prior to nailing or screwing. Never fasten the transition pieces or mouldings to the laminate flooring and always maintain 1/4˝ expansion zone. Use T-mouldings in all doorways and where room is larger than 40´ board length or 26´ board width.
